Hello,
I am a new user, have been reading this forum for a while but only now decided to register as I have a small issue with my new Evohome installation.
I have an S plan heating system, couple of radiators upstairs and underfloor heating downstairs.
Boiler is Ideal Vogue Gen2 combi, controlled via the opentherm bridge.
First floor: all radiators in bedrooms have HR92s installed, with the exception of 2 rads in ensuites, which are always open. Zone valve for upstairs is permanently open and not controlled by Evohome.
Downstairs: all UFH, all controlled as one zone as internal doors are always open. Zone valve is permanently open and not controlled by Evohome. For this zone I have a BDR91 bound as zone valve controller, and it is used to turn on/off the circulating pump.
Upstairs seems to work fine, but I have noticed on few occasions that if downstairs (UFH) is the only zone calling for heat, the boiler will fire up and modulate, but the BDR91 works in some sort of TPI control. So it looks like if zone demand is say 50% the boiler will ramp down to 50% but the BDR91 will turn pump on for some time, then turn off, then turn on etc. During this time boiler is receiving its demand signal from opentherm bridge. I have also noticed DBR91(and pump) switched on while there is no demand sent to the boiler.
Is there any solution to this problem?
Initially I was looking to purchase HM80 and use it to control the pump and the mixing valve, but looks like HM80s are no longer available.
Regards,
atom
