Newbie to Remote Lighting controls

Hi,

I have been doing some research in controlling my lighting remotely through my phone/pc. As I need to do a retrofit (no CAT5 cabling between switches), I found my 2 options were Z wave or LightwaveRF.

I just wanted to get some advise on the pros and cons of each method. I am also thinking of taking the automation further to heating and security but at a later stage.

Any advise would be welcomed.
