Hi
I have an Evohome HR92 Thermostat occasionally deciding to change the set point to 35C local overide is disabled.

Anybody had this problem and how did you fix it, my guess is to invest in another stat also is it possible for me to get a warning text message or email via IFTTT or some other such software when set point is greater than say 20C, if so how? as I have just downloaded IFTTT and it doesnt seem very intuitive.

Many thanks

Mick

Controlling Evohome from the App

A friend of mine does not use Evohome but does use the Evohome thermostat and the app to control his boiler. He thus has no control panel. He grumbled that when he goes away, and he often does, he operates away mode but can only do it from the app. That means he has to accept the default setting of 15c. He has no way of reducing that. I have away mode set to 5C but I can do that as I have the Control Panel. It has never crossed my mind that the app is so restrictive but it seems Honeywell have forgotten the fact that some will not have a control panel. Anybody found a work around? He has to accept all the default options.

Would anybody know where I can get hold of an ATF300 wall mounted psu for the non-WiFi evohome controller. I’m told that the newer ATF 600 aren’t compatible with the non-WiFi controller.

Warranty process for HR92

I purchased 12 HR92s in 3 packs of 4 about 6-7 months ago but only recently got around to installing them as we were renovating the house. 11 of them are working fine but one seems faulty, this is on a towel rad in the bathroom and the zone was showing 30 degrees with a setpoint of 21. The radiator was on full.
I've carried out some quick diagnostics, the TRV body is fine and closing the black wheel in the HR92 base manually closes off the radiator fine, the HR92 is displaying an E2 fault which as I understand it means a motor/gearbox problem. If I take the HR92 head off, engage the lock and then wait for the valve cycle I see the black cog move maybe a quarter turn and then it displays E2, so it definitely seems to be an issue with the body itself as it happens even when not fitted to the base. I have tried fresh batteries and the problem persists.
From a quick google I can see that Honeywell state a 12 month warranty for these but I can't seem to find any information on how to actually claim against it. Does anyone know where I can find how to raise a warranty claim with Honeywell?

Adding Single UFH with own valve

Hi, I wondered if anyone has had experience with adding a separate BDR91relay for controlling a zone valve for under floor heating?

I’m fitting and plumbing a new system, the configuration I have on evohome is a new valve zone for the UFH but it’s also triggering the heat demand on the rad valve. Any idea if i can rework it to only trigger the UFH relay when setting the temp for the UFH zone?

Thanks
Mark

Nest vs Honeywell vs Hive

I am thinking of having my plumber change my thermostat from a unsubtle mechanical model to a Electronic one

I am very confused though.

Its a house so old it pre-dates cavity walls so have big bills and hot and cold spots.

so as In understand it, the key points are

* Nest learns but doesn't have an obvious option for radiator valves
* Hive has native radiator valves but doesn't learn
* Honeywell has native radiator valves but doesn't learn, charges extra for controlling water but can run standalone if we lose internet or the servers are no longer around

I am very confused, what is the latest thought on which is the one to go for?

Temp gets stuck in one room - help!

Hi there,

Have noticed recently that when I set Evohome to heat my main bedroom - it never seems to turn off.

So - set to 18 until 2030 and when it reaches half eight - nothing happens. I then have to manually lower the temp and go '15 at 2045' and then we're good until the next day.

Can anyone explain why this is and what, if anything to do?

Thanks

Eric

Evohome: Adding HR92s to radiator circuit

$

Hi*
I'm hoping someone here can help advise me about a modification I'm looking to make to my Evohome system.*
I currently have a set up with 3 zones (2 separate underfloor heating zones and one zone for all the radiators in the house). I'm looking to split up the radiators into a zone for each room with HR92s. The underfloor heating zones are independent of the radiators and I don't need to change them. Currently the radiator loop is controlled by a Y87RF thermostat linked to a wireless relay box that came with it (assume this is a BDR91). The relay is wired so that the boiler fires and an actuator valve on the radiators' circuit opens when heat is needed. My plan was to link the HR92s with the evohome controller and this existing wireless relay so that when any one of the HR92s asks for heat the*boiler will fire and the actuator*will be opened. The HR92s where heat is not needed will remain locally closed so those radiators won't get hot. In addition to this I have two towel rails that I don't intend to put HR92s on but allow them to get hot when any one of the radiators asks for heat. I have a high-level diagram of the current and proposed set up.
CentralHeating.jpg
However when I try to bind the HR92s with the wireless relay the binding does not work as if the HR92s and the relay are not able to communicate. From what I have read on the BDR91 it should support multiple*HR92s but I can't get it to bind even one. If I try to bind back the Y87RF this binds perfectly first time.
Does anyone know if this set up should work in theory and if so why I may be failing to bind the HR92s to the wireless relay?
Thanks!

Intergas & Evohome

Help for the ignorant please. Although by now I ought to know the answer anyway.

I will be changing my boiler and replacing my radiators before long. I will go for the Intergas ECO RF36, or its better, more efficient brother, the Intergas Extreme 36. Naturally I want to keep my Evohome gear. When I installed Evohome the boiler connection was relatively easy. The Control Panel replacing the old original thermostat. The relay for the CH connects to the same points that the old thermostat used to. In effect the relay replaces the thermostat for the purposes of switching the boiler, valve and pump on and off. Thus the relay, so far as the boiler is concerned, is the thermostat. With Intergas, connecting up the relay (BDR91), is it just as simple or is there more to it I need to be mindful of? As the boiler is a condensing one then my HW relay and valve will all go.

EvoHome Schedule save / restore

As I can't find anything on this, I'm guessing it's a no.... but it does seem simple so maybe I'm overlooking something and you guys are the EvoHome experts!

Is there any way of backing up and restoring schedules? Seems such a simple thing to do, either on a zone-by-zone basis, or all zones, or applying schedule of one zone to another zone etc...

In my instance, what I'd like to do is take a particular room (daughters bedroom) and apply a schedule to it for the weeks that she is staying with us, and set the schedule back to something different for the weeks she is away at Uni. It's painful and long-winded going through and manually making changes and trying to remember what I'd had them set to before etc...

Would also be neat to be able to backup the entire schedule settings so I could "play" and maybe find more economic combinations (e.g. is it better to run hot water with the heating, or on its own...).

The reason I say it seems simple is that the iOS App reads schedule information and writes it, so it must be accessible externally. I just haven't found a utility yet that does it and I don't have the time to go writing one myself unfortunately...

Old 'newbie' getting ready to install Evohome system

Hi All, As the post title says I'm planning the installation and setup of an Evohom Connect System in our 'new to us' house. I have a basic system, single-zone, thermostat in the hall, some TRVs on rads, Worcester condensing boiler, tank on landing but no tank in the attic. I think I'm getting my head around the process, but still a couple of points I need to clarify. I have a Switchmaster SW600 programmer controlling the present system. I assume this will be replaced by the Evohome BDR 1? I want to add the hot water system, but can I choose whether to use the insert or the strap-on sensor? These are probably really basic questions but basic is what I am. Any help appreciated!!:o

Smart control of electric underfloor heating and radiators

$

We are renovating a flat. It will have 3 electric underfloor pads in separate rooms and conventional radiators fed from a communal heating system in other spaces.

I have been trying to find a smart control system that will integrate sensible control of the electric UFH and smart TRVs. I do not want to use Honeywell / Residio's Evohome as its control of electric UFH is basic (and limits the choice of mat), it has quirky connectivity, is in a technological cul de sac and is apparently not being developed or invested in (a pity as I have used it in two properties successfully).

I have looked for alternatives but none seem to combine good underfloor control with smart TRVs (eg. Heatmiser, Warmup) or if they do smart TRVs they don't do electric underfloor well or at all (Vaillant, Lightwave, Evohome).

Is there any other system I should consider or if I want smart control do I need to have two systems and try to integrate switching by IFTTT or some other means?

HR92 model numbers

Hello All,

I’m trying to get hold of some HR92WE or HR92EE which are the same as the Uk ones but with the upside down display. My towel rails have the TRVs at the bottom upside down so the normal UK ones won’t look good.

Does anyone know a source in the UK to get some?

Also I seen the model number THR092HRT which seems to have the upside down display but are these the same or an older model?

Lastly has anyone done the diode mod and used zeners?

Evohome firmware 02.00.19.31 Beta Trial - Exclusive for Automated Home Members

Hi All

Firstly we sincerely hope you are all staying safe. Unprecedented times.

As we posted a few months back we were working on an important update to the Evohome firmware which continues to grow the capability of the product and helps future generations of users. We have conducted our internal testing along with the security and other things we do. Key highlights are

  • Warm weather saver
  • Cold weather boost
  • Dynamic room scaling (for professionals)

Now we know you lot love to fiddle and play which is fine, it’s kind of what we want. But PLEASE don’t do anything which will bring your heating offline or something to reduce your comfort. If you are NOT confident and not familiar with the system, then we highly advise you do not engage in this live beta, which is exclusive to this forum.

Normal customer support will not be available for the functions listed here. Instead if you need support then we ask you post it in THIS thread so we can monitor and reach out accordingly.

To apply for the live beta – please visit this website https://getconnected.honeywellhome.c...ohomebetatrial and accept the terms and conditions. Any data monitoring we do is to help improve the performance and is held within our secure systems, as per normal. You have the right to opt out beta at any time. We apologise to our international customers, but the sign up form is in English only, however the beta firmware will work with any local language supported by Evohome.

This trial is open to end users, installer professionals or any of our Smart Home partners, but we are only mainly communicating this via the Automated Home forum, where we see biggest following and interested users.

After applying for the beta – you will receive a notification from our customer care team stating you have been successful (whilst we are going to try and accommodate everyone, we have to onboard over time). The email will have additional information and insights which will be able to tell you more about the functions and help provide you with a basis to then give feedback if asked. Please give us some reasonable time to respond.

In these challenging times, we really appreciate your ongoing support. We always aimed to make a home heating system that worked well, saved money, easy for a wide range or people to use, but offered more depth should people want – and most importantly lasted.
You are now part of that improvement process. We read the threads offering improvement suggestions and we honestly do evaluate everything, along with all the other input we get across the globe.

Support for this beta trail will come from ‘AndytheMinion’. Rameses is not lurking too much in these forums, but we still want to inform and help where we can.

Good luck, stay safe and thank you helping us continue to deliver what we still feel is the best heating system.

The Evohome team

PS Future FW updates are coming later this year. Heat pump support, Cooling, Heat/Cool change over (for professionals) will be a key feature, we hope to run a similar trial later in the year.

EvoHome Beta 02.00.19.31 - HW Priority Setting

In the welcome beta email it briefly mentions about HW Priority dependent on your system set up but doesn't really expand on this

'And finally…. Stored hot water priority and a hot water heating state if you use a Sundial central heating valve.'

Could someone expand on this? As I believe i've got the correct set up (Zone valves, Boiler Relay etc) for this to work however it doesn't appear to be an option on my panel running the beta firmware.

HomeEasy access from Google Assistant/mobile device

I’m trying to drag some of the tech in my house into the modern age!

I have a couple of Google minis, a few Chromecast audio and a Hive.

Unfortunately the house has a number of HomeEasy RF receivers buried in the walls to control the lights and also the plug-in sockets. I think there are 7 devices in the house in total using the old Home Easy system and a number of remote controls around the house to control them. Also unfortunately, the system actually works really well as we are not reliant on using smart phones nor having a reliable internet connection in order to control the lights but it would be really nice to also have the option to control the devices from Google Assistant/mobile

I have searched the forum and found a few references to hardware and software that might allow me to link the old to the new but all the threads are quite a few years old now and I wondered if anyone has any updated information on achieving this. I did get in touch with Lightwave last year (they used to make HomeEasy) and they were not able to give me any assistance other than a suggestion to try forums/Facebook.

I am also no stranger to Pi and Arduino and BangGood!

Thanks in advance
