Wifi controller not updating
This has happened twice now and I'm scratching my head a little... I've been running Evohome very happily for a few years now and I don't think anything at all has changed my end so I'm a little lost as to why this has only just started happening. It cannot be readily reproduced either of course, but basically this happens:
This morning the bathroom was set to 10deg permanent override. It being rather chilly, I set a new target temperature of 23deg. The screenshots I have attached clearly show that the website has updated with the new value, but around 30 minutes later the controller still hadn't updated. It DOES look like it had communicated the actual values since the ones displayed on the WebUI were accurate. I didn't get an email to say that "remote implementation of schedule had failed" or something to that effect - I vaguely remember getting those in the past when there was an issue.
This has happened twice now. The first time, I rebooted the controller and when it eventually came back the issue was gone, but of course this could have been a complete red herring and time alone might have addressed the issue. There are no faults recorded in the log book.
Anybody have any thoughts as to what might be going on here?

- I set a new temperature (permanent override or timed override) through the phone app, the API or the web site
- It is accepted and I can see it in other places, i.e. if I set it through the app I can see it on the web site and poll it through the API
- The wifi controller does not update, i.e. it will continue to show the "old" set point...and as such the heating never comes on :(

Evohome v Tado v Hive v Nest
I've just bought my first home and I'm making it all gadgety! I have the Hue system for lighting but am thinking about heating. It currently has the Honeywell CM927 programmable thermostat with BDR91 relay box. I'm presuming I can't use this relay box for any other architecture other then Evohome?
In an ideal world I would want to have control over each radiator as I see this really is the way forward with smart heating but from what I can understand Tado is the only real option here and that would cost around £300 (starter kit and wireless receiver) plus around £59 for each radiator (I have 5), so around £600 in total. That probably seems a bit extravagant after already spending a fortune on other stuff (carpets, floors, washing machine etc etc etc). Evohome seems a similar price.
I think my main thing is to be able to control the heating via my iPhone both inside and when I'm out and about i.e. forgot to turn off the heating etc.
So, are Hive and Nest my only real options; with Hive currently £120 and Nest around £180.
Anybody else had a similar dilemma? Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

No heating in bedroom with EvoHome
Our bedroom and ensuite are a multi room zone with hr92 units.
It was working the other day but now nothing. If we set an override on the app, it says this is applied but the units don't update even after 15 minutes and they don't appear to be following the schedule.
With the weather turning cold, what should we do? No errors are reported anywhere we can see.

IOS App Issues
Anybody else found their app not working on their iPhone or iPad since IOS 12! I found that with both my iPhone and iPad any setting changes I sent to the Panel did not get there, yet they showed in the app. This has been since I updated the IOS on Monday. I have cured it by deleting the app on each device and reloading it and both seem to work but if anybody has had a similar issue try the delete and reinstall approach.

EvoHome self install
I'm planning on getting an EvoHome system to control my combi boiler CH and five radiators which have TRVs already fitted. I've got an electrician coming to wire up the boiler controller end of things and after that I'll be doing the rest of the install myself, so I'm wondering what's the best approach.
With the controller wired up to the combi and paired with the central controller/screen, I guess I can test that the boiler is being controlled correctly just by using the controller as a thermostat and once that's verified as working I can replace the existing TRVs on each rad in turn, testing each as I go along?
Does that seem sensible or am I missing something/should I leave it to a professional?

Major outage 25th September
Yesterday I had issues with my remote display not matching my in house control unit - I spent about an hour trying to sort out the issue before giving up - Today it is back to normal.
I then find it very irritating that I find out about issues like this from the media, with zero communications from Honeywell:

Batteries for Evohome
Exciting thread topic alert!
Very occasional poster here. Infrequent lurker.
As the weather is starting to turn, I thought I'd do a pre-Winter shakedown of my system and fire it up for the first time since March.
All was well, but I discovered that something didn't shut down properly.
Tracked down my issue to a duff set of batteries.
My question to you all is this:
what batteries do you use in your rads?
I'd been replacing mine every year with a set of Costco own brand.
Has anyone given Enerloops a try?
I'd never heard of them until recently, but the fact that they don't leak seems like it could prevent having to buy a new rad "thing" (Mine are HR80, and I don't know the correct lingo for the updated ones!)

Opentherm and DHW control
Long story short (for people that would look for the same thing as I did):
Evohome with the Opentherm R8810A1018 cannot control DHW.
Only the DHW kit allows Evohome to control DHW.
---
Hi all,
I've just had my Evohome setup installed.
Initially, the installer went the BDR91 route, considering my boiler was not (officially) supporting Opentherm protocol.
It ment changing the wiring between the controler to the Boiler (as the Boiler was previously controlled by a single programmable Thermostat) to control it with the plain relay on/off.
Full disclosure, the Boiler is an Atlantic Perfinox 4100 (yup, I'm from France).
This Boiler is actually built around an LMU64 from Siemens, and was previously controlled by an QAA73.110 (also from Siemens).
It turns out that those two elements are actually talking to each other using Opentherm. This is their design.
I then assumed that it shouldn't be an issue to switch back to a Opentherm mode, and ordered on my own the R8810A1018 Evohome Opentherm controller, and installed it "manually".
Turns out I was actually right, it works flawlessly since then.
Modulation is done properly, and thanks to the new firmware that I've requested to Honeywell (.17 instead of an old .11), it is confirmed by the Evohome controller.
However, my question is actually regarding the DHW.
Previously, the QAA73.110 was able to handle some parts of the DHW management (not much more than plain 'activate' DHW or 'de-activate' DHW.)
Since moving back to the Opentherm management of the Boiler, the Boiler disabled itself the Heating logic (Flow control, CH temperature, Daily Programmation, ...), but kept the DHW management internally.
The Evohome shows nothing regarding the DHW, and everything needs to be done at the Boiler directly.
It feels a bit strange, considering that the Opentherm IDs that the QAA73.110 & the LMU64 are supposed to handle include the DHW, and same goes for the Evohome + R8810A.
In theory, the R8810A controls the ID #26 (DHW Temperature), similar to the QAA73.110, and the LMU64 should be able to execute the command sent by the Thermostat (wether it is R8810A or QAA73.110).
Does any one of you, having a combined boiler (Heating + DHW internal storage), have their DHW managed by Evohome ?
Or, on the opposite, does Evohome only handle DHW with the "DHW kit" ?
I've ordered the components to assemble an Opentherm Gateway to inspect the traffic between the R8810 and the boiler controller to try and confirm the situation, but I'd love to have other feedbacks from what to expect.
Some of the specs sheets of the components:

HR92 displays E2 error code
I've had Evohome installed for several years, its worked really well after the troubles around set up and the password glitch that caused my controllers to crash when clearing the fault log. Anyway moving on, I still get lots of faults in the log and displayed on the screen but just ignore them unless they relate to batteries as the system seems to work okay regardless. Recently however the HR92 in the bathroom zone permanently displays E2 on the screen. Ive established this is an error and attempted the battery out reset method, which seems to work initially but it then comes back.
How do I clear this error or is the unit knackered?? Oddly it reports the current temperature and to the base correctly but when heat is called for by exceeding the current room temp either by local override or by increasing the zone temp at the base it does not call for heat at the boilew despite showing as much on the base. Current temp will show 15 degrees for example with displayed request at 25 degrees, boiler does not fire.
I actually only need this thing to act like a room stat as the towel radiators come on whenever there is a heat demand, they do not have a individual TRV.
So in summary, can I clear this fault somehow and is it possible just to use the HR92 as a room stat for temp measurement and local override?

Evohome, Communication with the system has been lost
Getting this message with both the App and the total connect website.
"Communication with the system has been lost"
Strange thing is i can still control Evohome with Amazon Echo, and the app and website show the current correct temperatures for all rooms, so its getting the data from somewhere.

Hive 2 to Evohome switch difficult?
Hi
I am hoping for a little advice. I currently have Hive 2 heating and have bought the kit to switch to Evohome system.
Hive has a single relay in my airing cupboard, which controls water and heating.
My evohome kit came with a hot water kit containing one relay and a CH kit containing another identical relay.
I was hoping, perhaps naively that this would be easy enough for a non DIYer like myself. Looking online at diagrams, it looks like the Hive relay has HW On/Off wires and CH On/Off wires. Is it not just a case of putting these wires to the correct pins in the Evohome relay? And do I need to use both relays or can this all be wired up into one of them?
Any advice is appreciated. I am seeing my electrician tomorrow, but hoping this is a job I can do.

EvoHome WiFi Controller temperature reading incorrect
I have a single zone EvoHome WiFi Controller in my hallway and this morning it was reading a temperature of 28 degrees whereas an adjacent digital thermometer was saying it was 22 degrees (which felt about right to me). Beforehand, I'd picked up the controller out of it's stand to check a few settings so heat from my hand may have had some effect (?) but on placing the controller back in it's stand, the displayed temperature stayed at 28 degrees.
I realise I can set an offset in the controller for the temperature reading but an inaccuracy of 6 degrees seems excessive to me - could the unit be faulty?

IFTTT location trigger has become useless with Android 8.1
Since updating to Android Oreo 8.1, I'm now finding all IFTTT location commands are taking an age to trigger effectively now rendering it useless for heating and outside house lights location commands. So, we're now getting home to a dark cold house, then the heating and lights come on about 10-15 mins later, pointless. Previously the exact same triggers were instant and reliable, we'd be sat in the car and the notifications would sound at exactly the same place every time (about 5 miles from home as per the instruction).
I've followed remedy instructions by IFTTT (I think they know this is a problem), got Data saving off, battery saving off etc etc. The only thing I haven't tried is a reset of the phone.
Anyone else experiencing this??, any ideas??
thanks
PS I'd like to try Stringify, but appears that Evohome is not supported, although many other Honeywell thermostats are.

Hot water icon in evotouch - is it really working as expected?
I observe that icon for the "heating" state displays always in selected hours regardless if boiler is really working, ie. if there is demand for heat or not.
example:
water heating set to ON between 6.30 and 8.30. target temperature is set 51 deg.
IMG_9236-1.jpg
The active state is still ON even though current is 52 and boiler stopped. This will last until 8.30 when it will turn blue (not heating).
IMG_9235.jpg
I would expect it to be "red" only of boiler is running, otherwise should go blue as soon as it reached desired temperature and stopped boiler.
what happens currently it displays "red" all the time between 6.30 - 8.30, even though boiler went off after reaching desired 51 degs.

Evohome - Fitting HR92 to Chrome Towel Rails?
Hi All,
Had Evohome installed this Summer and it's started showing its value with the colder morning and evenings now. Have 9 zones (rooms) configured + HW.
One issue is that I didn't add HR92's to the 3 bathroom's chrome towel radiators since I figured (a) it wouldn't look good, (b) that the rads would come on when it's cold anyway. However we have a South facing garden and the back of the house gets warmer than the front, so Hallway rads call for heat and cause towel rail in bathroom at back of house (South facing) to come on making it get 3-4 degrees warmer than the Hall.
Has anyone got pictures of HR92's connected to chrome/silver rads?
I wonder what it will actually look like if I add them.
A half-way option would be to add chrome TRVs to limit how hot the towel rails get.
Anyone come up with a different or better solution for towel rail control?
Thanks!
